Happy Birthday 29th Michelle!

The Girls out for Michelles 29th Birthday dinner.
After not seeing eachother since the last birthday bash in August ( there were other occasions in between but not all of us were there) we finally saw eachother and as always its as if time never went by... We can always pick up from the last time and it never feels like we were ever apart for how ever long it might have been. Thats the GREAT thing about having a FABULOUS group of friends, time never exists and the friendship only grows stronger.

It was an exciting night because not only were we there to celebrate a birthday with our girlfriend but we celebrated her engagement to Glen (another Fabulous addition to the group) which happend the weekend prior to Michelles birthday! So Exciting !!!

The food was delish! and the price for the amount of food was great... the service was lacking, however I have to say I think the fact that we went late may have played a part in that... I can understand that the employees were wanting to get out Asap... I'll have to try it again at an earlier time to make my final conclusion.... Overall always a great night with the ladies

Happy New Year!!! 2010

I rang in the New Year with my parents, brother and my boyfriend at home. It was quiet and relaxed; we had dinner and ate paella, chipotle shrimp, two kinds of salad and wine. We talked a lot over dinner, rang in the New Year and ended the night with a board game. Today I had lunch with some of my gf we were going to go to the movies but it was such lazy day and I still had tons of food at my house so I had them come over for lunch. We talked lots about babies in our families, maternal clocks, weddings and working out, vitamins, cooking and many other things.

2009 was a great year; I am pleased with everything that happened… I learned so much in school this past year and had so many experiences working at the hospital. I traveled with my bf to new places and saw many, many, many awesome concerts. Met new people, found a job, joined a gym and the absolute best thing that happened is that I fell in love with an amazing guy. I am really lucky to have great friends and this summer was the first time that all the girls were together again. I’m really excited and looking forward to see what the New Year will bring for me… and I’m anticipating graduation day.

This Years Hopes- 2010 I hope to...
1. Be able to go visit my family in the motherland
2. Keep my part time job (School will be a lot more demanding this last semester)

End of summer...

The end of summer has finally come! After a crazy busy and stressful summer involving school and dance, I can finally relax and enjoy what is left of summer. The girls all came together for the first time in a really really long time. We celebrated 3 birthdays at once at my house in a BBQ that I called “Birthday Threesome”... We gossiped, ate, laughed and drank some sexy drinks. My gf Mel from Dubai and her boyfriend were here, my gf Dav from Texas, and then the locals girls plus a rare appearance from our friend Grace. The bf’s were all in attendance and my brother played chef over the hot bbq... all in all a delicious success with a piece of delish ice cream cake to end the night.

The CNE for many represents the last couple weeks before school begins, for me its all that plus the craziest two weeks of dance before school starts. So on Friday Aug21 the CNE opened and we went as a dance group to perform in the international pavilion and it was a great show like every year... After my performance I walked around the CNE with B then we walked across to the Molson amphitheatre to see if we could score some tickets to see Pearl Jam for their Sold Out show... So we asked a scalper if he had tickets and he only had one *tear*. So Bruno just kept walking and went in and I said to him “We can’t just walk in if we don’t have tickets, we need to go back out there and find a scalper who has tickets” his response was “ What for we have tickets” and he pulled out a pair of tickets he bought months ago. It was an amazing concert I don’t think I can ever get tired of seeing Pearl Jam and I can’t believe he kept a secret from me for so long.

Labour Day weekend I went to the CNE again but this time for fun and for yet another concert. This time it was B, his friend and my gf Yvette. As girls we were interested in playing games and winning stuffed animals and we both ended up winning a little Miss Sunshine, Keroppi and I got a Crazy frog from Bruno while Yvette went home with some other stuffed friends. The guys on the other hand were interested in winning a pocket bike or an acoustic guitar. At the amphitheatre we saw The Killers and the evening was kindda cool and breezy but other than that it was a good concert. After the concert was over we went back to the CNE for a while longer to play some more games, food and BINGO... I won! And Yvette and I play some free games and the guy didn’t even know haha, we’re so sneaky lol

September rolls around and school begins and surely enough I had to get tons of homework on my first day back but who am I to complain, I’m just really excited that I have finally entered my last year and that I am now ¾ of the way to completing my education.... I look forward to graduating.

I was expecting to do something special for Bruno’s Birthday since he has done so much for me in these last few months... The original plan was to take him out to watch “We will rock you” because I know he likes Queen however when I was looking for tickets I saw that the last show was earlier this summer at the end June. So I was stumped but I finally came up with an idea and after a lucky search I found a great deal for floor tickets to go see U2 for their 360 tour. So when I gave B his card at first he was happy but after I think it really hit him and he was excited. I think we both had a great time at the concert and it was so far the BEST concert I have seen all year.

Well another summer has come and gone and like all things that are fun and exciting... all good things must come to an end

Barcelona ...Icecream!

So my bother remembers that he has an asignment due for class the next day, Assignment: Go to a restaurant that serves fine dinning but one thats not an established buisness chain and order 3 course meal (appetizer, main course, dessert) and a beverage, then make a review of the restaurant and food. Nice assignment eh? Well he asked me to come along with him because he would be embarassed to take pictures of the food because that "is a thing that girls do". Anyways I accepted and off we went. So our destination was the Royal york/Kingsway neighbourhood and off we went in search of a restaurant that fit the criteria. We found "Barcelona" a spanish tapas restaurant and went in to try out some tapas.
So heres MY review on it:
Restaurant - intimate setting, dimmly lit with lots of Spanish related articles such as framed bullfighting posters, a giant bulls head coming out of the wall and flamenco dancer doll at the bar. Good service and very clean!

Price-Not a expensive and deffinately not cheap place to go eat its moderately priced. The tapas are $10 and under, the main course $15 and upward, and as for desserts anywhere from $4- $10.

Food- It was delicious ! my brother ordered a Spicy traditional paella (main course) and I ordered a bunch of tapas (appetizers) such as Caramelized Onions with Goat cheese, spanish style Calimari, Warm salad which included potatoes bell peppers tomatoes and leafy greens, and a mini chicken paella. The mini paella was adorable in size but so delicious! Finally we orderd for dessert a banana churro and I had a bit of it and it was delish!....
Final verdit: I reccomend it for a special occasion type dinner and Yes I would go again.

After dinner I had a coffee date later on with my girls and it was soo good to see them ALL! As usual we had lots to talk about and catch up on but all the while enjoying each others company:)
I think it was the perfect ending to a crazy week !

The girls +boy :)

Michelles Sexy Strawberry Cheese Cake !

Jen & Yvette both got some yummy Peanut butter dessert!

Joey & I had a scoop of ice cream with a HUGE waffle and it was Yummy!

Eeeek!

Okay... this is definitely the longest that I’ve been away from my Blog. I’m gonna have to summarize what’s been going on for the last while since my last post in March! Yes, March and now it’s JUNE!!
April is Birthday time!!! So my birthday came and went. I am now 28! Woo. On my Birthday I went out with my Boyfriend to Milestones and he gave me a bunch of awesome gifts (several concert tickets and a special gift. I also had a fabulous birthday dinner with my girls and my Boyfriend... I wanted to do something BIG! But then taking into consideration my school schedule I became obvious that something BIG would require lots and lots of planning time... and “TIME” is something I could not afford to waste. So it was nice and simple “Maki Maki” for all you can eat Japanese and then everyone came back to my place for Rockband and Cake.

Finals & Exams... Ugh! The dreaded words a student doesn’t wanna hear. Well I was swamped what else can I say? It was hectic and I’m so glad it’s OVER! And I’m even more excited to say that I PASSED all my classes and that I’ve officially finished First YEAR! WOOO HOOO.... Schooools out for summer! )Not really Im doing Clinical and 1 other class but that’s till the end of July :)

Emo kids

"Pain doesn't hurt ... when its all you've ever felt " - Unknown

So I went to Tim's for coffee some with my girlfriends on sunday night, and there was this emo guy sitting in the corner of the shop at a table all alone with his fringed bangs sweeeping over his face covering it. We're pretty sure he was pretend calling someone on his cell phone....but anyways we overheard him on the phone.. and all we could catch was " Sometimes people don't understand that I need to be sad" ... I mean (lol) he makes a good point sometimes we do need to feel sad but it was such a cliche thing to hear him say and so sterotypical... well we found it amusing none the less... Usually if Im having a hormonal day I just tell people that Im feeling Emo, So what exactley is Emo? and how is it defined?

EMOS
Yes, Emo is short for emotional. Emo is one of the hardest things to explain because the are viewed as suicidal, cry babies, sensitive or weak...

"Suicide is painless it's only life that hurts" - Unknown

Although some people make them selves appear emo it's just the hair and looks emo is more of a state of mind and as the name states its emotional and harder to fake.
"Emo: Like a Goth, only a lot less darker and much more Harry Potter" - Unknown

Emo music is something that is rather ambiguously defined. It can be something that has heavy punk chords and influence such as what we've heard from the Sex Pistols, but it can also be something with soft melodic characteristics like what we've heard from the Cure. This is why emo is such a hard concept to define. It is an expression of emotion in some way. The Cure have been going strong now for over 20 years, writing songs that could make any 16 year old boy break into tears, even the football players. Their catchy guitar riffs and honest, emotional vocals have been mimicked by almost every emo artist to date. Another band from across the pond that has definitely influenced the emo music scene is Depeche Mode. They might be a primarily electronic band, but their moody lyrics and loner style has crept into every facet of the emo scene. Loosely defined, Emo music is music that is highly emotional and very straight forward in the expression of that emotion.

Emo is not only a classification or a type of music it's also taken over the way one expresses themself by dressing. It includes the tighter fiting pants to the dyed-black or dark hair with it covering your face. The longer hair in front with the spikes in the back is also a more Emo- or emotional look to dressing. Most times females and some males using heavy dark eyeliner or other makeup.

So one of my girlfriends asked me "Is it true that in Mexico they kill emo kids?" To that I had no reply so I went to my reliable Mexi sources at dance class and asked what the dealio was with this whole emo death rumour. It was explained to me that emos in Mexico (more in refernece to males) are considered to be homosexual because of the way they dress and act( makeup and being sensitive). I think its important to note that Mexico is a country where the religion is practically 98% Roman Catholic and because Mexicans are sooo hardcore catholic being homosexual is deeply frowed upon therefore leading to emo kids ( males specifically) to be targeted. Even to this day many homosexuals in Mexico are still in the closet because it is soo taboo... Another fator why emo kids are disliked among Mexican society is because of thier "suicidal image" and of course that is also frowned upon in the catholic religion. Dissatisfied with those being the only reasons that Emo Kids were being persecuted and killed I decided to investigate further and found several articles that explained what really triggered or initialized this movement.

"The violent attacks are partly being blamed on an on-air rant by ‘Televisa’ TV personality Kristoff who recently called emo ‘fucking bullshit’. Kristoff subsequently called for an end to the violence but it is thought he make take the fall if the government blames Televisa for the trouble...
On March 7 around 800 young people in the city of Querataro amassed against emos in the city resulting in many violent attacks, and a week later a similar incident occurred in Mexico City. Emos in both cities responded to the attacks by marching peacefully through the center of the cities...
Meanwhile, Chile is also seeing a wave of violence against emo, with TV station Chilevision showing an attack on a group of PokEMOns by skinheads. Emo’s in Chile are known as PokEMOns."

It makes me wonder are we all a bit Emo? Maybe in order to function day to day we repress the little emo kid living inside of us...

"Sick of cryin.. tired of trying, yea im smiling but inside in DYING"

Crazy Ex-girlfriend

Why is that some women just can't accept it when a guy ends a relationship with her? I've recently experienced the Crazy ex girlfriend, which in this case happens to be my brothers ex's.

Ex girl friend #1
Came to my house to fight with my brother b/c she couldnt accept that he was dating someone new. Basically if she cant have him then no one can have him. She almost broke the window. Stole a zip up jacket that was given to him by the new gf and threw it in the mud. Calls the new gf claiming that she is pregnate and claiming that she is having sex with him ( which are lies made up just to get a reaction). Shows up to the new gf's house with her friends to show her all the msgs my brother wrote her when they were together ( dont know what that proves). Says shes gonna get married b/c he said that he wants to be with her and raise thier baby together. Honestly shes a stupid little girl, who is delusional because he wants nothing to do with her, not only that shes not even pregnate STOP pretending!!! GROW UP!!!

Ex girlfriend#2
plays the same game as #1 claiming shes pregnate, refuses to go to the doctor to go do a test when my family offered to take her. However shes waving around a positive pee stick saying that my brother knocked her up. Comes to my house yelling that shes gonna kill him and shes gonna kill her baby too. She demands that he pays for her abortion, however AGAIN when told that my family is willing to take her to get it done because she wants it and we will pay for it she changes the topic to something else... an starts yelling things like hes a dog, Im gonna kill him, ... etc. She not only comes and insults my brother but my family and then she get physically agrressive and its not the first time that shes gotten violent with my brother. So today was the final straw I called the cops on her because I had enough of her making a sceen. She was gonna run when she saw the cops but they stopped her, talk to her, and off in the cruiser she left.
For someone who is 28y/o she acts like shes 19y/o and is imature and I dont think she is pregnate and if she is well I doubt its my brothers b/c from what I know shes not anywhere near being a prude.

I honestly thought that "the crazy ex girlfriend" was a myth or an over exageration by men. I thought that these types of girls existed only in books, tv, or in movies. I never thought that I would ever see first hand the insane, immature, psychotic behaviour of 'the ex-gf '.

I really am glad that my girlfriends are smart well rounded women that would never lower themselves to that level. I know some pretty amazing ladies that I adore and Im glad I dont know or associate with people like those crazy chicks.

Holidays make me... insane in the brain.

So its been a while since Ive last posted mainly due to all the craziness revolving christmas parties and school....

So School is finally over for this semester and I am glad 'cus during exams I was super stressed and was lacking on the sleep which makes me extra crabby ( not good for those who around me, sorry.) BUT now I am Freee!!! for a month which is a nice change cus now I have the luxury of sleeping in and not having to wake up early for 8am class... and does it ever feel nice.

Sat, 20th Dec 2008..... Dance classes are out for the holidays, and Im thinking that it will be nice to have a break from it since we have had a super intense summer season that lasted well into November. So we had out Christmas party and this year we stuck with tradition and had all our families ( parents/ siblings) come out and enjoy a delicious Pot Luck. With bellies full of delicious home made Mexican cuisine it was time for our Secret Santa gift exchange. This year I got "V" ( vanessa) and I got her 2 graphicT-shirts, a gift card and candy. Stephany was my secret santa :) and she gave me this beautiful earthy looking basket full of bath time goodies that smell great and I'm really looking forward to using it. I love how some of my students were sweet enough to bring everyone a little xmas grab bag with some xmas treats and christmas cards with a personal message inside. I thought it was a beautiful guesture ( Paulina & Stephany, you girls are beautiful). Overall I think everyone had fun playing games, spending time with each other, our families, and sharing our christmas with the newer people in the group.

So later that day I had my Kris Kringle with my Girls and it was a memorable moment, mainly because it was a reunion of sorts. Joey had just returned from Halifax, Melissa had flown in from Dubai and well the local girls were all together again so this made our little group complete for the first time in over a year. The night started off with some food and drinks, eventually proceeding to our infamous Singstar battles ( which Joey was new to and tried to distract all his oponents with his super fab voice and serious dance skills) and "more than words" & "Wind of change " were the two classic favourites of the night. So the night ended off with our gift exchange and I am a happy girl 'cus I got a Gift Card to Donatos salon & spa ( thanks Jen) which I intend on using for some serious pampering and im leaning towards a massage.

Holiday parties = food, drinking, fun times, people we love, and pressies (not always but mine did) Merry Christmas

Maki weekend..

So this weekend was an all you can eat Maki eating weekend.
Most of my Saturday consumed by Christmas dance event and then the later part of the day was spent at work and after that I got my MAKI on ( in more ways than one)... I went out with a "friend" (*wink wink) and Wasabi man made an appearance and eventually Kikkoman drown him in his brown soy sauce. The night was ended with lots of snow, muff, office tour, silk teabags and late night dessert ;) Yum!

I spent Sunday with my ladies and a special appearance by my Gf who's currently living in Dubai ( Yes Mel, I wanna come visit, but I need cash). So we met up at Tim's and had a catch up convo a.k.a girl talk and after that it was lunch at Maki maki...again ... lol. The dinner and Lunch Menu are pretty much the same just minus a few items like the different color dragons and some added extra choices. The fried banana was delicious... tempura banana drizzled with chocolate sauce. Plus added with the side of icecream Mmmm! To work off all the maki I ate this weekend, I went to the mall with my gf to run a few shopping errands and then it was on to studying for exams.

Peacocks in the club...

So I was out with the girls for Michelles B-day dinner at Moxies. We tried the garlic fries with asiago mayo dip from the winter menu and I was not too impressed. We got two orders and one order was dreched and sitting in garlic oil and had verry little sea salt toping on the fries and the other one was sitting under a handfull of sea salt topping. and after we went over to Jen's place, to play singstar. ( Michelles Birthday gift 80's & 90's singstar)

So we get to Jens place and as soon as we get out of the car all I hear is Michelle say 'I need new poos' but then Jen and Yvette heard Poots ... However Michelle claims to have said "I need new boots" ... haha you had to be there.
So I was singing More than words with Ian and I all I hear in the background is Jen & Yves laughing thier asses off. So after Im done my song Yvette explains to me how they were talking about songs that would be good to have on singstar and Michelle starts talking about some song that says peacocks in the club .... long story short she was talking about Flo rida song low and the part of the song she was talking about was " apple bottom jeans boots with the fur" not "peacocks in the club " .... lol again u had to be there

On our way out of Jens building we were walking down the hall and came across this...
"NO JUNG MAIL "
Lol I clearly think its an asian home because had it been a latino it would have said "No Yunk mail"
