I love my boobies and you should too...

Just last month I went in for a yearly physical with my Family Doctor as he was examining my breasts he found two lumps one in each breast he sent me to go get an ultra sound and I got an appointment for later on that week. It is so important for women to do frequent self examinations of their boobs. I think that whole week I was freaking out and thinking of all the possibilities including the worst case scenario because I’d rather prepare myself for the worse rather than to think everything is fine and dandy and receive terrible news after that I didn’t prepare myself for. I was told to go back in about 4 weeks for all the results on my blood work plus the ultrasound and if there was anything to be concerned about that I would hear back from my Dr before that time... Well later on this week I have to go in and *fingers crossed* but I’m hoping that everything will turn out fine

Breast Cancer kills more women than it should because women aren't turning their breasts into pancakes for 10 seconds. And if you think that hurts, what do you think chemo and a mastectomy would feel like? Ladies, get your mammograms and don’t stop feeling your boobies. However it is important to mention that BECAUSE more women are doing regular self Breast exams and getting their boobies check out by their Doctors that there are MORE women who are saving their own lives by early detection. I gathered some Candian Stats from the "Candian Cancer Society"

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer). In 2009:

  • An estimated 22,700 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 5,400 will die of it.
  • An estimated 180 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 50 will die of it.
  • On average, 437 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer every week.
  • On average, 104 Canadian women will die of breast cancer every week.
  • Probability of developing or dying from breast cancer One in 9 women is expected to develop breast cancer during her lifetime and one in 28 will die of it.
  • Trends in breast cancer Breast cancer death rates have declined in every age group since at least the mid 1990s.
  • In women aged 20-39, breast cancer incidence and death rates have declined since 1969
Breast Cancer Stats Males Females
Cases .......................180 ..... 22,700
Incident rate ............. -- ......... 102
Deaths .................50 .........5,400
5Year Survival ..........84% ........87%

*age-standardized to the 1991 Canadian Standard Population (per 100,000)

............I love my boobies and I don’t ever wanna loose them... Ladies LOVE your boobies, let’s Change the numbers of these Breast cancer stats and let’s screen our boobies more often, screening is your “Breast” defense!

End of summer...

The end of summer has finally come! After a crazy busy and stressful summer involving school and dance, I can finally relax and enjoy what is left of summer. The girls all came together for the first time in a really really long time. We celebrated 3 birthdays at once at my house in a BBQ that I called “Birthday Threesome”... We gossiped, ate, laughed and drank some sexy drinks. My gf Mel from Dubai and her boyfriend were here, my gf Dav from Texas, and then the locals girls plus a rare appearance from our friend Grace. The bf’s were all in attendance and my brother played chef over the hot bbq... all in all a delicious success with a piece of delish ice cream cake to end the night.

The CNE for many represents the last couple weeks before school begins, for me its all that plus the craziest two weeks of dance before school starts. So on Friday Aug21 the CNE opened and we went as a dance group to perform in the international pavilion and it was a great show like every year... After my performance I walked around the CNE with B then we walked across to the Molson amphitheatre to see if we could score some tickets to see Pearl Jam for their Sold Out show... So we asked a scalper if he had tickets and he only had one *tear*. So Bruno just kept walking and went in and I said to him “We can’t just walk in if we don’t have tickets, we need to go back out there and find a scalper who has tickets” his response was “ What for we have tickets” and he pulled out a pair of tickets he bought months ago. It was an amazing concert I don’t think I can ever get tired of seeing Pearl Jam and I can’t believe he kept a secret from me for so long.

Labour Day weekend I went to the CNE again but this time for fun and for yet another concert. This time it was B, his friend and my gf Yvette. As girls we were interested in playing games and winning stuffed animals and we both ended up winning a little Miss Sunshine, Keroppi and I got a Crazy frog from Bruno while Yvette went home with some other stuffed friends. The guys on the other hand were interested in winning a pocket bike or an acoustic guitar. At the amphitheatre we saw The Killers and the evening was kindda cool and breezy but other than that it was a good concert. After the concert was over we went back to the CNE for a while longer to play some more games, food and BINGO... I won! And Yvette and I play some free games and the guy didn’t even know haha, we’re so sneaky lol

September rolls around and school begins and surely enough I had to get tons of homework on my first day back but who am I to complain, I’m just really excited that I have finally entered my last year and that I am now ¾ of the way to completing my education.... I look forward to graduating.

I was expecting to do something special for Bruno’s Birthday since he has done so much for me in these last few months... The original plan was to take him out to watch “We will rock you” because I know he likes Queen however when I was looking for tickets I saw that the last show was earlier this summer at the end June. So I was stumped but I finally came up with an idea and after a lucky search I found a great deal for floor tickets to go see U2 for their 360 tour. So when I gave B his card at first he was happy but after I think it really hit him and he was excited. I think we both had a great time at the concert and it was so far the BEST concert I have seen all year.

Well another summer has come and gone and like all things that are fun and exciting... all good things must come to an end
