Water Marble nails

I’ve been seeing a lot of tutorial videos on Water Mable Nails. The results are pretty cool and it seems pretty easy to do but I have yet to try my hand at it. I’ve attaching a YouTube video for those who are not familiar with water marble nails. I like the girl who does this particular video and I’ve seen a few of her videos.  This is a Valentines day inspired video.

Happy New Year!!! 2010

I rang in the New Year with my parents, brother and my boyfriend at home. It was quiet and relaxed; we had dinner and ate paella, chipotle shrimp, two kinds of salad and wine. We talked a lot over dinner, rang in the New Year and ended the night with a board game. Today I had lunch with some of my gf we were going to go to the movies but it was such lazy day and I still had tons of food at my house so I had them come over for lunch. We talked lots about babies in our families, maternal clocks, weddings and working out, vitamins, cooking and many other things.

2009 was a great year; I am pleased with everything that happened… I learned so much in school this past year and had so many experiences working at the hospital. I traveled with my bf to new places and saw many, many, many awesome concerts. Met new people, found a job, joined a gym and the absolute best thing that happened is that I fell in love with an amazing guy. I am really lucky to have great friends and this summer was the first time that all the girls were together again. I’m really excited and looking forward to see what the New Year will bring for me… and I’m anticipating graduation day.

This Years Hopes- 2010 I hope to...
1. Be able to go visit my family in the motherland
2. Keep my part time job (School will be a lot more demanding this last semester)

Civic Holiday

So we decided to spend the day together on the holiday monday but had no plans. We has already seen eachother on the saturday & sunday night before and I suggested that we make a day in the park out of it. We went to center island and I forgot how nice it is to go there and just walk around... we went to the pier sat and enjoyed the windy air people watched a little and then we were off to find a nice place to set our blanket down and relax. Then off we were to the "far enough farm" in the kids village and saw peacocks in the club (haha) and walk around some more... not a day full of highlights but a day well spent with someone I care about really really truly truly :) Mostly it was just fun to be together and trying to make it on to the ferry.

Oh Canada...Eh!

What a gorgeous day it was for Canada celebrations, I unexpectedly spent my day at Mississauga city hall and it was pretty fun. I have never really gone to Canada day celebrations in Mississauga except for once when I had to perform but even on that day I still didn’t stick around after. We walked around and watched the entertainment ( Chinese dragon dancers, martial arts school, variety show… etc)
Later on in the evening they had performances by Kreesha turner & Sloan and to finish off the evening right a spectacular show of fireworks right above city hall … Okay well maybe not so spectacular but its was LONGGG.
I thought that the fire works would be kind of limited and maybe 5 10 minutes but nooo not at all. The fire works display went on for what looked like 30 minutes or so, and that’s when I thought “Hey that where my dad money for taxes goes” I’m sure those fireworks didn’t come cheap.

Being a first generation Canadian born, I can say that although I am proud of my heritage I’m also really proud to be Canadian. So what makes us so different or unique from out neighbors to the south? What makes us Canadian? So I’ve composed a small list of things Canadian invented, made or inspired.
Maple Leaf, Beaver, Timbits, Maple Syrup, Poutine, Nanimo Bars, Back Bacon, Lacrosse, Hockey, Basketball, Insulin, Walkie Talkies, Zippers, Roller Skates, Toques, Cuban vacations, Metric Measurements, Robertson Screwdriver, IMAX, Cirque du Soleil, Loonie, Toonie, Canadian Tire money, Winnie the pooh and Superman are all things CANADIAN!!!

Oh, and we cant forget Joe's canadian speech....
Enjoy and Happy CANADA Day to All !

Hey.
I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader, and I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dog sled, and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada, although I'm certain they're really, really nice.

I have a Prime Minister, not a President. I speak English and French, not American, and I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'.

I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack. I believe in peacekeeping, not policing; diversity, not assimilation; and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.

A tuque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch, and it is pronounced zed: not zee – zed!!
Canada is the second largest land mass! The first nation of hockey! And the best part of North America!

My name is Joe!! And I am Canadian!
... Thank you

New Year... 2009

Well Last night was fun, I really had a good time with B and his friends. As expected it was a small gathering of friends and I enjoyed meeting them all. Lots of beer, guys playing guitar hero, and watching sports after the count down... I got a little buzzed from the champagne but it was a small one. My favorite thing about New Years and being with B was the kiss and spending time with him even tho it meant being tired as hell coming home at 8 in the morning, it was well worth it.

So I dont usually make a habit of creating New years resolutions, because I find that people ( like me) usually only stick to them for the first quarter of the year before they settle back into thier old ways. In the past few years I use to make a list of 10 things I wanted to do for that year, no matter how unlikely or absurd it was and if by the end of the year I accomplished 1 of those things then I could say that I had suceeded.

However this year I want to do more than just a '10 list' and Ive decided to combine it with other things... and hopefully it will help me in achieving certain goals I have in mind, and here goes...
New Years Resolutions 2009

1. Be MORE physically active ( I want to be able to run again, so I need to work on my physiotherpy for my back, plus I want my old body back)
2. Experience NEW things ( I'm usually open to anything but this year I wanna push my limits into doing things I would normally not do ... taste, feel, do..etc)

3. SHOW more Emotion ( I usually dont have trouble verbally expressing how I feel, but I think that I dont hug my family or friends enough and I really wish I did)

4. Take time to BREATH ( I am a control hog and I a lot of the times I take on more than I should. Usually its because I cant say No or because I think I can handle it... I need to distress, breath, take in the moment, and just enjoy the small things.)

5. CREATE better habits & environments ( not just at home but also at school, in dance, and with people I love... I need to organize my time, priorities, and also need to improve the environments I work in like my room, study areas, dance space... etc. )

This Years Hopes- 2009

I hope to...
1. Be able to travel, take a vacation ( I really need one, its been long over due)
2. Find a steady part time job ( I need something to help while im in school)2008 Last Year
Best Thing that Happend: (It’s a tie! )
1. Finally getting a full time acceptance at school (nursing)
2 .Finding out that Bird is the word, all the while enjoying Bnut butter and Jam

Worst thing that Happend:
Finding out I didn’t pass all my classes after exam and thinking that I was withdrawn from the program when I wasn’t... My world almost ended that day.

My 10 List for 2009...
1. Get through and pass 1st year nursing
2. Make money
3. Pay off Visa
4. Start an RRSP
5. Go Sky diving
6. Visit a new city (major city)
7. Get back into shape
8. Donate my Hair
9. Fall madly in love (someone or something)
10. Get a tattoo

N.Y.E Mayhem

Omg! ...why did I even think that going out to buy stuff was a good idea today? the insanity, the line ups, the people, the parking lots .... all of it is soo ridiculous

I went get some bubbly for midnight at the LCBO holy line ups! then I headed over to my local churasqueria (portuguese chicken) they ran out of chicken.. Boooo, then I went to the grocery store I have never seen sooo many people in line at that grocery store or so many cashiers working at once. However standing in line at the grocery store I observed that the majority of the customers were men... and then I giggled and I thought to myself "These are the poor husbands that were sent to get last minute items by their wives before closing" Next year I think I will go the day before or early in the morning to grab what I need.

Meh, it was to be expected not much I can do ... I knew what I was getting myself into.

Anyways Im looking forward to spending New Years with B, it will be our first of hopefully many more to come. Nothing really exciting is happening as for celebrating just something small and intimate at one of his friends house with a few of his friends. So I look forward meeting some new faces but mostly spending time with B :)

Wishing everyone the Happiest & Best New Years night ever... And wishing that everyone lots of Love, Good Health, Success, Wisdom, and Prosperity in 2009 :)

Eat, Drink and be Merry tonight, but dont drive unless ur a DD ^_^

My 3 Christmases

Christmas Eve- eve ( Dec 23)
So my Christmas started early this year and I got a few gifts before Christmas day from previous xmas parties... However I think the best present award has to go to "B" because he got me the best gifts and it was stuff that I wanted... lol minus the muff ( inside joke) but I love it anyways. So we went to Alice Fazooli's, we had the goat cheese and chicken pizza which I thought it was delish and the Butternut Ravioli which sounded better on paper than it did in the mouth ( really it didnt amaze me and it could have been so much better). So after that we just hung out and before it was time to go home we did a little gift exchanging. *Note* I was told by "B" in our last meeting that I was not to "buy" him a gift, so being the obdient girl I am, I made his gift instead... I baked him 2 types of cookies Sugar Cookies which I used holiday shapes, (Star, Tree and Lightbulbs), Icing and color sugar... and Soft molasses cookies which taste spicy cus of the ginger and cinnamon in it. Yummy! :P Mmmm ... So asides the fur boot covers that were made to resemble a muff, I also got Nightmare before Christmas Dvd (collectors edition) and Twlight (hardcover collectors edition, which I couldnt find anywhere.) Thanks B! I love my gifts!!!
Christmas Eve (Dec 24)
Christmas Eve was spent with my family and some Family friends... We went to thier place and of course did the Turkey and all its usual friends stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad ...etc. Lots of good wine, and delicious desserts topped of with some Baileys Yumm :P Which contributed to my participation in playing Rockband.... Some highlights of the night include meeting 6 wk old baby Miguel ( sooo adorable and strong too), small gifts (assorted teas from Second cup, lotion set, & Tim's gift card), Rocking out & being so drunk at dinner that my mouth felt numb as I was eating and yet I was able to compose myself and not attract attention to myself *pat myself on the back* :)

Christmas Day ( Dec 25)
So my family & I went to my aunts house for Christmas Dinner and boy did I ever stuff myself. After the first round I was feeling rather plump. I thought that if I pause on the eating and let my stomach relax that I could attempt a second round and was I ever wrong I went for round 2 and I struggled but Im glad I wore my "fatman pants" aka Yoga pants. The highlights included watching Alexia open her Christmas gifts ( my cousins daughter), the many toasts, and paparazzi picture time. What a beautiful Holiday for families and friends to get together.

My Christmas wish is for everyone to have a Merry Chrsitmas with all thier loved ones :)

Holidays make me... insane in the brain.

So its been a while since Ive last posted mainly due to all the craziness revolving christmas parties and school....

So School is finally over for this semester and I am glad 'cus during exams I was super stressed and was lacking on the sleep which makes me extra crabby ( not good for those who around me, sorry.) BUT now I am Freee!!! for a month which is a nice change cus now I have the luxury of sleeping in and not having to wake up early for 8am class... and does it ever feel nice.

Sat, 20th Dec 2008..... Dance classes are out for the holidays, and Im thinking that it will be nice to have a break from it since we have had a super intense summer season that lasted well into November. So we had out Christmas party and this year we stuck with tradition and had all our families ( parents/ siblings) come out and enjoy a delicious Pot Luck. With bellies full of delicious home made Mexican cuisine it was time for our Secret Santa gift exchange. This year I got "V" ( vanessa) and I got her 2 graphicT-shirts, a gift card and candy. Stephany was my secret santa :) and she gave me this beautiful earthy looking basket full of bath time goodies that smell great and I'm really looking forward to using it. I love how some of my students were sweet enough to bring everyone a little xmas grab bag with some xmas treats and christmas cards with a personal message inside. I thought it was a beautiful guesture ( Paulina & Stephany, you girls are beautiful). Overall I think everyone had fun playing games, spending time with each other, our families, and sharing our christmas with the newer people in the group.

So later that day I had my Kris Kringle with my Girls and it was a memorable moment, mainly because it was a reunion of sorts. Joey had just returned from Halifax, Melissa had flown in from Dubai and well the local girls were all together again so this made our little group complete for the first time in over a year. The night started off with some food and drinks, eventually proceeding to our infamous Singstar battles ( which Joey was new to and tried to distract all his oponents with his super fab voice and serious dance skills) and "more than words" & "Wind of change " were the two classic favourites of the night. So the night ended off with our gift exchange and I am a happy girl 'cus I got a Gift Card to Donatos salon & spa ( thanks Jen) which I intend on using for some serious pampering and im leaning towards a massage.

Holiday parties = food, drinking, fun times, people we love, and pressies (not always but mine did) Merry Christmas

Christmas time is near...

Christmas is just around the corner and its time to get ready for all those Christmas parties.
It happens to be one of my favourite holidays putting up the lights, decorating the tree, playing Christmas carols, wrapping up presents, and baking ginger bread cookies. I cant help but to get excited like a little kid around this time of year.
It always makes it special when we can celebrate thess memorable holiday moments with someone special. I espcially look forward to having Kris kringle with my girlfriends or Secret santa with my dance group.
So last year I organized an outting with all the dancers and made our Christmas party at medievel times which was really fun, but this year we are gonna keep it simple. We are going to be doing our traditional party which involves the kids bringing thier parents and siblings along, lots of food, music and this year I decided to include party games, usually we watch silde shows or videos of our past performances but this year I thought it would be fun to involve the parents in some games and not have them be so passive. Anyways Im kindda excited and Im looking forward to posting pictures and stories from that event.

Happy Holidays!
