N.Y.E Mayhem

Omg! ...why did I even think that going out to buy stuff was a good idea today? the insanity, the line ups, the people, the parking lots .... all of it is soo ridiculous

I went get some bubbly for midnight at the LCBO holy line ups! then I headed over to my local churasqueria (portuguese chicken) they ran out of chicken.. Boooo, then I went to the grocery store I have never seen sooo many people in line at that grocery store or so many cashiers working at once. However standing in line at the grocery store I observed that the majority of the customers were men... and then I giggled and I thought to myself "These are the poor husbands that were sent to get last minute items by their wives before closing" Next year I think I will go the day before or early in the morning to grab what I need.

Meh, it was to be expected not much I can do ... I knew what I was getting myself into.

Anyways Im looking forward to spending New Years with B, it will be our first of hopefully many more to come. Nothing really exciting is happening as for celebrating just something small and intimate at one of his friends house with a few of his friends. So I look forward meeting some new faces but mostly spending time with B :)

Wishing everyone the Happiest & Best New Years night ever... And wishing that everyone lots of Love, Good Health, Success, Wisdom, and Prosperity in 2009 :)

Eat, Drink and be Merry tonight, but dont drive unless ur a DD ^_^

Alexia turns 1

:D So today the family got together for the 1st Birthday of my cousins daughter Alexia. It was a small family gathering and that was more than enough because she was a happy baby with her ballons and cake. We heard her birth story... mommy shared how she rememberd it 1 yr ago and daddy proudly showed everyone her birth video. The family Oooohed and Awwwwed while we watched how a cute little girl changed soo much in one year. It's amazing how one year ago she was this tiny little fragile baby and now shes a bright, smiley, strong, active little girl.

Alexia at birth... 1 day old

She opend her gifts, ate her cake and loved her ballons Happy Birthday Alexia... to many more wonderful birthdays.

My 3 Christmases

Christmas Eve- eve ( Dec 23)
So my Christmas started early this year and I got a few gifts before Christmas day from previous xmas parties... However I think the best present award has to go to "B" because he got me the best gifts and it was stuff that I wanted... lol minus the muff ( inside joke) but I love it anyways. So we went to Alice Fazooli's, we had the goat cheese and chicken pizza which I thought it was delish and the Butternut Ravioli which sounded better on paper than it did in the mouth ( really it didnt amaze me and it could have been so much better). So after that we just hung out and before it was time to go home we did a little gift exchanging. *Note* I was told by "B" in our last meeting that I was not to "buy" him a gift, so being the obdient girl I am, I made his gift instead... I baked him 2 types of cookies Sugar Cookies which I used holiday shapes, (Star, Tree and Lightbulbs), Icing and color sugar... and Soft molasses cookies which taste spicy cus of the ginger and cinnamon in it. Yummy! :P Mmmm ... So asides the fur boot covers that were made to resemble a muff, I also got Nightmare before Christmas Dvd (collectors edition) and Twlight (hardcover collectors edition, which I couldnt find anywhere.) Thanks B! I love my gifts!!!
Christmas Eve (Dec 24)
Christmas Eve was spent with my family and some Family friends... We went to thier place and of course did the Turkey and all its usual friends stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad ...etc. Lots of good wine, and delicious desserts topped of with some Baileys Yumm :P Which contributed to my participation in playing Rockband.... Some highlights of the night include meeting 6 wk old baby Miguel ( sooo adorable and strong too), small gifts (assorted teas from Second cup, lotion set, & Tim's gift card), Rocking out & being so drunk at dinner that my mouth felt numb as I was eating and yet I was able to compose myself and not attract attention to myself *pat myself on the back* :)

Christmas Day ( Dec 25)
So my family & I went to my aunts house for Christmas Dinner and boy did I ever stuff myself. After the first round I was feeling rather plump. I thought that if I pause on the eating and let my stomach relax that I could attempt a second round and was I ever wrong I went for round 2 and I struggled but Im glad I wore my "fatman pants" aka Yoga pants. The highlights included watching Alexia open her Christmas gifts ( my cousins daughter), the many toasts, and paparazzi picture time. What a beautiful Holiday for families and friends to get together.

My Christmas wish is for everyone to have a Merry Chrsitmas with all thier loved ones :)

Holidays make me... insane in the brain.

So its been a while since Ive last posted mainly due to all the craziness revolving christmas parties and school....

So School is finally over for this semester and I am glad 'cus during exams I was super stressed and was lacking on the sleep which makes me extra crabby ( not good for those who around me, sorry.) BUT now I am Freee!!! for a month which is a nice change cus now I have the luxury of sleeping in and not having to wake up early for 8am class... and does it ever feel nice.

Sat, 20th Dec 2008..... Dance classes are out for the holidays, and Im thinking that it will be nice to have a break from it since we have had a super intense summer season that lasted well into November. So we had out Christmas party and this year we stuck with tradition and had all our families ( parents/ siblings) come out and enjoy a delicious Pot Luck. With bellies full of delicious home made Mexican cuisine it was time for our Secret Santa gift exchange. This year I got "V" ( vanessa) and I got her 2 graphicT-shirts, a gift card and candy. Stephany was my secret santa :) and she gave me this beautiful earthy looking basket full of bath time goodies that smell great and I'm really looking forward to using it. I love how some of my students were sweet enough to bring everyone a little xmas grab bag with some xmas treats and christmas cards with a personal message inside. I thought it was a beautiful guesture ( Paulina & Stephany, you girls are beautiful). Overall I think everyone had fun playing games, spending time with each other, our families, and sharing our christmas with the newer people in the group.

So later that day I had my Kris Kringle with my Girls and it was a memorable moment, mainly because it was a reunion of sorts. Joey had just returned from Halifax, Melissa had flown in from Dubai and well the local girls were all together again so this made our little group complete for the first time in over a year. The night started off with some food and drinks, eventually proceeding to our infamous Singstar battles ( which Joey was new to and tried to distract all his oponents with his super fab voice and serious dance skills) and "more than words" & "Wind of change " were the two classic favourites of the night. So the night ended off with our gift exchange and I am a happy girl 'cus I got a Gift Card to Donatos salon & spa ( thanks Jen) which I intend on using for some serious pampering and im leaning towards a massage.

Holiday parties = food, drinking, fun times, people we love, and pressies (not always but mine did) Merry Christmas

Exams...

So yesterday I had an exam and tomorrow another and in 2 more days my final exam.
Yesterdays went pretty well, I feel good about how I did. There were a few moments when I got flustered but overall I feel that I answered those questions as best I could, I made logical educated guesses ( muliple choice).

Tomorrow is my second last exam and not be to cocky but I feel really confident about going into this exam. Mostly because I find this class to be easy and full of common sense. Anyways as Im reviewing I feel like I am prepared. However the one exam that I am stressing about is my last one. Lol I added this pic cus seriously it something that I would concider doing, however I wouldnt 'cus 1. I wouldnt feel good about myself and 2. im too chicken that I would get caught. It just overwhelming all that i have to learn for that exam. Anyways gotta go hit the books again, break time is over.

Who knew?

There are times in life when we meet people though jobs, school, a friends house, or in random places like concerts, grocery store, online ... etc. We never really think much about how these people we meet will play a role in our lives at least not when we first meet them. Sometimes it turns out that from these unexpected meetings comes a long lasting friendship, or they may become that person you want to avoid talking to when you see them hallway of a shopping mall, perhaps they only stay as a mutual acquaintance that you have small talk with whenever you see them on the street, but sometimes just in a rare instance that meeting could lead to a date or a kiss and possibly a whole lot more... Who knew?

Maki weekend..

So this weekend was an all you can eat Maki eating weekend.
Most of my Saturday consumed by Christmas dance event and then the later part of the day was spent at work and after that I got my MAKI on ( in more ways than one)... I went out with a "friend" (*wink wink) and Wasabi man made an appearance and eventually Kikkoman drown him in his brown soy sauce. The night was ended with lots of snow, muff, office tour, silk teabags and late night dessert ;) Yum!

I spent Sunday with my ladies and a special appearance by my Gf who's currently living in Dubai ( Yes Mel, I wanna come visit, but I need cash). So we met up at Tim's and had a catch up convo a.k.a girl talk and after that it was lunch at Maki maki...again ... lol. The dinner and Lunch Menu are pretty much the same just minus a few items like the different color dragons and some added extra choices. The fried banana was delicious... tempura banana drizzled with chocolate sauce. Plus added with the side of icecream Mmmm! To work off all the maki I ate this weekend, I went to the mall with my gf to run a few shopping errands and then it was on to studying for exams.

Christmas time is near...

Christmas is just around the corner and its time to get ready for all those Christmas parties.
It happens to be one of my favourite holidays putting up the lights, decorating the tree, playing Christmas carols, wrapping up presents, and baking ginger bread cookies. I cant help but to get excited like a little kid around this time of year.
It always makes it special when we can celebrate thess memorable holiday moments with someone special. I espcially look forward to having Kris kringle with my girlfriends or Secret santa with my dance group.
So last year I organized an outting with all the dancers and made our Christmas party at medievel times which was really fun, but this year we are gonna keep it simple. We are going to be doing our traditional party which involves the kids bringing thier parents and siblings along, lots of food, music and this year I decided to include party games, usually we watch silde shows or videos of our past performances but this year I thought it would be fun to involve the parents in some games and not have them be so passive. Anyways Im kindda excited and Im looking forward to posting pictures and stories from that event.

Happy Holidays!

math blows

So I went to a math class for like an hour and a half, 'cus apparently I cant seem to pass a simple math test thats only 10 questions long.

As preperation for semester two they make us do a math test with basic math questions which include an assortment of addition, subtraction, division and multiplication of one of the following fractions, decimals, percentage, or word problem. Sounds easy right? No, I mean yes the questions are easy but you are required and expected to get 10 out of 10 on the test. Oh and no calculators! this is from your head.

First time I got 8 out of 10 right, I knew the division of decimals was wrong and the fraction question. So they made me go to the Math center for 1 hour to "get help" .... all I got was a booklet of math quesions and after my hour was up I was free to leave I didnt even have to finish the booklet they sign a paper saying that I attended this 'Help'. So now I am eligable for my second attempt at this math test and motherF$*#er wouldnt u know it I get 8 again! Sooo this time my answer was sort of right my mistake I rounded two of my decimal answers.

After two failed attempts I along with many others were sent to this class where a lady shows us how to properly solve math problems ... only problem is she confussed the hell out of me and now I am mad at math ... Ive decided im gonna carry a mini pocket calculator when im a nurse, screw top of my head I dont wanna be held accountable for killing someone due to wrong dosage. In conclusion Math blows!

ugh... still sick... Ick!

snow storm?

So since late last week everyone was making a HUGE fuss about a snow storm that was suppose to hit Toronto late sunday night and continue into the early hours of monday.

So it was said that Toronto and the surrounding regions should expect to see anywhere from 5-15cm of snow fall.

On sunday afternoon around 3ish flurries starting coming down but since its just above 0°C these flurries commit suicide, die and melt away. Then about 4:30pm it has now turned into rain ( at this point I make my medicinal purchace) about 15 mins later its now windy like hell and its freezing rain. That shit hurts when its hitting you in the face... So as the night progresses it continues to rain.

I wake up today expecting to see a thin or small layer of snow ... Nope! just rain, so much for the storm
