METRIC! ...at Edgefest

Yellow rain poncho, black rain boots and tickets to Edgefest!

There I was despite all the rain and mud flying everywhere I enjoyed every moment of it. The last of the Birthday concert tickets where used and needless to say my dear lovely bf was there right next to me.

So asides all the people soaking wet or covered in mud there was some pretty well known bands playing that day THE ARKELLS, K-OS AFI, MONEEN, THE STILLS,ALEXISONFIRE, BILLY TALENT (the head lining act) and of course what I was waiting for
METRIC!!!

I was so excited and I wish I could have gotten closer, however that comes with a price and that price included being covered in mud so I stayed a safe distance from the stage and sang my little heart out along with Emily Haines.

All in all I loved being there and has loads of fun, despite all the rain and mud. I was fun watching people walk around in the mud and have their flipflops sucked in by the mud, and as gross as it was I'll never forget the portapotty that had a urinal 3/4 full of Mens dirty piss and my stupid poncho got caught in the door as i was goin in and the stench... Lol the memories I take with me from this day are worth standing in the rain for .

No Doubt...

So last night I went to the No Doubt concert and it was AWESOME! For Part II of my Birthday concert tickets that my awesome bf gave me.

The concert started off with good performance by Bedouin. They did a few songs and then after that followed Paramore and they were really good. I have to say that I really enjoyed their performance, even though I am not a huge fan I do know a few of their songs and I got to hear some more of their material and I’m really liking it. Apparently they are coming back in Oct sometime because they are releasing a new album soon, so that might be something to look forward to.
Anyways the main event was No Doubt and they were so good. I think what I really like about whole was watching Stephen and his dance moves, at time he was more entertaining to watch than Gwen. I love love love his dancing. Anyways, some people were invited on stage a guy with a No doubt tattoo on his bicep, a guy who printed out the lyrics to a song on poster size paper and the lyrics where wrong... Hahaha.
Oh! And there was these two teeny girls sitting in front of us and they obviously were huge Paramore fans cus i think they might have creamed their panties a few times when certain songs were played.

Anyways they were just being stupid teenage girls but as they were dancing to songs one of them *ucking wacked me with her stupid flailing arms. She turned around to say sorry but I gave her the nastiest look just for my own amusement and I think she felt bad cus she stop waving her arms in the air like she just didn’t care. She was waving them but I think always careful to not hit me again Hahaha.
Omg! I tried to take a picture of the stupid girls in front of me cus her and her friend were wearing stupid 80’s sunglasses that said State Farm on the side... lol they were lame looking.

And I saw “Flyer Man”!!!! lol I pointed him out and my boyfriend thought I said “spider man “ and he was looking for someone coming down the ceiling hahaha I love it cus that really would have been cool, but anyways I haven’t seen Flyer Man in forever and I just got excited for like a second when I saw him. Thank you “B” for part 2 of birthday concert tickets

Barcelona ...Icecream!

So my bother remembers that he has an asignment due for class the next day, Assignment: Go to a restaurant that serves fine dinning but one thats not an established buisness chain and order 3 course meal (appetizer, main course, dessert) and a beverage, then make a review of the restaurant and food. Nice assignment eh? Well he asked me to come along with him because he would be embarassed to take pictures of the food because that "is a thing that girls do". Anyways I accepted and off we went. So our destination was the Royal york/Kingsway neighbourhood and off we went in search of a restaurant that fit the criteria. We found "Barcelona" a spanish tapas restaurant and went in to try out some tapas.
So heres MY review on it:
Restaurant - intimate setting, dimmly lit with lots of Spanish related articles such as framed bullfighting posters, a giant bulls head coming out of the wall and flamenco dancer doll at the bar. Good service and very clean!

Price-Not a expensive and deffinately not cheap place to go eat its moderately priced. The tapas are $10 and under, the main course $15 and upward, and as for desserts anywhere from $4- $10.

Food- It was delicious ! my brother ordered a Spicy traditional paella (main course) and I ordered a bunch of tapas (appetizers) such as Caramelized Onions with Goat cheese, spanish style Calimari, Warm salad which included potatoes bell peppers tomatoes and leafy greens, and a mini chicken paella. The mini paella was adorable in size but so delicious! Finally we orderd for dessert a banana churro and I had a bit of it and it was delish!....
Final verdit: I reccomend it for a special occasion type dinner and Yes I would go again.

After dinner I had a coffee date later on with my girls and it was soo good to see them ALL! As usual we had lots to talk about and catch up on but all the while enjoying each others company:)
I think it was the perfect ending to a crazy week !

The girls +boy :)

Michelles Sexy Strawberry Cheese Cake !

Jen & Yvette both got some yummy Peanut butter dessert!

Joey & I had a scoop of ice cream with a HUGE waffle and it was Yummy!

My Bounty is as boundless...

"My bounty is as bounless as the sea, My love as deep; the more i give to thee, the more I have for both are infinte." - William Shakespeare (Romeo & Julliet)

My interpretation of non-shakspearian english:
What I have to give to you is as endless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to you the more I have for both are endless.

How do I love thee...

"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's Most quiet need,
by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use In my old griefs,
and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints.
I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life;
and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death.

-How Do I Love Thee? (Sonnet 43)" — Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Its amazing how many people know the first line of this sonnet, but can't seem to finish the rest. Anyways I just wanted to post it because lastnight I was talking about it.

Janes Addiction & NIN

NIN JA !!!
June 02 , 2009 I went for part 1 of the concert tickets I got from my Hunky Bf on my Birthday! It was a good show I was expecting NIN to close but nooo it was Janes, a great show none the less... Im really happy that I got to see it with my bf, especially since its our first concert as a couple... I quiet enjoyed him holding me during the show, I always secretly was jealous of couples like that but now I have my turn and its a sweet feeling :)

Theses are some pics that I took at the NIN JA show the ones I took of NIN didnt turn out so great. The evening started off with a huge line up for parking, semi long walk to the entrance gate, massive line up, a ticket that printed out stupid and wouldnt scan, missing the first hour of the concert due to all the set backs, a gorgeous sunset and accidentally getting on the gardiner after.LOL All in all a perfect concert date!

I heart Cubaaaa!!!

So after a crazy month of finals I made a well needed escape to Cuba. My boyfriend and I had been talking about going away somewhere, and he found a great deal and next thing I knew I was Cuba bound.
We went to Cayo Coco and it was just what I needed... Sun, Beach, tanning and lots of RUM!!! Yum! We went for a week to Oasis Playa Coco and it was a nice 4 star resort. Spending every day relaxing at the Beach was the best part of the trip and was worth it, being under the sun, feeling the sand in between your toes, swimming in warm salt water TOTALLY worth every penny!!!

We had so much fun even though it was just us two, I feel that after this trip with “B” it’s drawn us closer and I’m so glad that I got to spend the time that I did with him. I don’t think it would have been the same with anyone else. I would go anywhere with him because he’s a great travel partner and just as always we were laughing at something everyday and just having a good old time. I was afraid that spending so much time together I would come to learn of a habit of his that would drive me nuts or maybe by a certain day we would just get sick of being with each other. However, it was the complete opposite and I love him more now than before this trip even happened. I look forward to many more trips with my SUN GOD of a boyfriend (he’s like a tanning King!).lol

Some highlights of our trip hmmm so many things...

RUM!!! All day, any time... RUM PUNCH, Pina Coladas, Miami Vice, Mojitos, Rum and coke, slushies with Rum, fruit juice with rum and well just any drink with RUM. Mmmmmm!

The Beach - sand, waves and Sunshine!!!
Resort Dance shows – On one particular night there was this drunk guy Dancing Man it was too funny!

Snorkelling – On our last day we went snorkelling and although I had fun, unfortunately we got pushed into shallow coral reef by some crazy waves... We both touched fire coral but I got the worst of it. Cuts on my leg and now I’m taking medication for a Neurotoxic infection in my leg from the coral. I have Neuropathic damage to the nerves in my left leg and I’m also taking steroid treatment for a chemical allergic reaction to the coral reef which made my skin flare up into hives, blisters and bright red patches.

I miss relaxing at the Beach everyday : ( and taking countless naps!

Eeeek!

Okay... this is definitely the longest that I’ve been away from my Blog. I’m gonna have to summarize what’s been going on for the last while since my last post in March! Yes, March and now it’s JUNE!!
April is Birthday time!!! So my birthday came and went. I am now 28! Woo. On my Birthday I went out with my Boyfriend to Milestones and he gave me a bunch of awesome gifts (several concert tickets and a special gift. I also had a fabulous birthday dinner with my girls and my Boyfriend... I wanted to do something BIG! But then taking into consideration my school schedule I became obvious that something BIG would require lots and lots of planning time... and “TIME” is something I could not afford to waste. So it was nice and simple “Maki Maki” for all you can eat Japanese and then everyone came back to my place for Rockband and Cake.

Finals & Exams... Ugh! The dreaded words a student doesn’t wanna hear. Well I was swamped what else can I say? It was hectic and I’m so glad it’s OVER! And I’m even more excited to say that I PASSED all my classes and that I’ve officially finished First YEAR! WOOO HOOO.... Schooools out for summer! )Not really Im doing Clinical and 1 other class but that’s till the end of July :)
