Long time no see

Dear: Blogger

It's been about 3 years since my last post... Please forgive me, this is my confession.

Yeah, I know it's been long and really sooo much has happened since. Over the holidays I came back to my blog and started reading some of the older stuff I had posted and I  realized how much I miss writing, sharing stories and information that interests me.

I stopped writing and for a stupid reason too, but I promise I won’t go away for this long again. I enjoy the time I spend on here. So YES I’m back!

I’m really pleased to see the changes that have happened on blogger since my hiatus. This is why I took most of January to edit and change the look of my blog. I’m really pleased with the fresh look and colours I’ve selected and I especially love that can keep my posts in a somewhat organized fashion with the tabs I’ve put in place.

Thanks for coming by...

Happy Birthday 29th Michelle!

The Girls out for Michelles 29th Birthday dinner.
After not seeing eachother since the last birthday bash in August ( there were other occasions in between but not all of us were there) we finally saw eachother and as always its as if time never went by... We can always pick up from the last time and it never feels like we were ever apart for how ever long it might have been. Thats the GREAT thing about having a FABULOUS group of friends, time never exists and the friendship only grows stronger.

It was an exciting night because not only were we there to celebrate a birthday with our girlfriend but we celebrated her engagement to Glen (another Fabulous addition to the group) which happend the weekend prior to Michelles birthday! So Exciting !!!

The food was delish! and the price for the amount of food was great... the service was lacking, however I have to say I think the fact that we went late may have played a part in that... I can understand that the employees were wanting to get out Asap... I'll have to try it again at an earlier time to make my final conclusion.... Overall always a great night with the ladies

Introducing Mia

The Bobbsey Twins -Baby (left) & Mia (Right)

For thanksgiving this year I got a new dog which I have named Mia. She a Bichon-Poo (my dream dog) and the sweetest ball of fur I have ever met.

My family decided that it was time for Baby our other dog ( 4 yr old, jack-a-poo) to have a playmate and sister if you will. Baby is one of those dogs that is more of a house dog and she was starting to believe that she was human. She needed another dog in her life to make her social with other dogs and to remind her that she IS also a dog.

The first week was rough on baby, she couldnt even be in the same room as Mia... Since I was the one who went to pick up Mia from the breeder she quickly adopted me as her mom. Baby ofcourse noticed and resented me for at least 2weeks because Mia required more of my attention. However, Baby has since warmed up to Mia, about the 3rd week in she was coming around a bit more... I think she finally realized that this new pup in town was here for good !

Now after 6 weeks they play, eat, walk and do everything together (like the bobbsey twins) its really cute to see them sharing treats, toys and doggie beds. They care and give each other eskimo kisses... I decided to enroll Mia into puppy school and when she comes home I like to practice her homework with her, Baby like to join in too.
Mia has really helped bring Baby back to behaving like a real dog... She is a blessing to our lives and shes My little girl.

Welcome Home Mia !

The BIG one

So I officially graduated from college in June and I am now an alumni member who proudly holds her diploma. Although it may seem that this is where it ends, it doesn't. I have been frantically stressed the last few weeks over the exam that matters the most. I have been studying and doubting that the amount of time I study is still not good enough.

So I am now two days away from writting an exam that is a full day 6hrs aprox. and 2 yrs worth of material. According to my exam prep book, which has been a most useful resource... I will do great, cus Ive been doing well on the quiz questions. However, even though I know the material, do great on the quizes and have been doing extra readings along with practice questions.... I some how find myself not feeling sufficiently prepared.

Happy New Year!!! 2010

I rang in the New Year with my parents, brother and my boyfriend at home. It was quiet and relaxed; we had dinner and ate paella, chipotle shrimp, two kinds of salad and wine. We talked a lot over dinner, rang in the New Year and ended the night with a board game. Today I had lunch with some of my gf we were going to go to the movies but it was such lazy day and I still had tons of food at my house so I had them come over for lunch. We talked lots about babies in our families, maternal clocks, weddings and working out, vitamins, cooking and many other things.

2009 was a great year; I am pleased with everything that happened… I learned so much in school this past year and had so many experiences working at the hospital. I traveled with my bf to new places and saw many, many, many awesome concerts. Met new people, found a job, joined a gym and the absolute best thing that happened is that I fell in love with an amazing guy. I am really lucky to have great friends and this summer was the first time that all the girls were together again. I’m really excited and looking forward to see what the New Year will bring for me… and I’m anticipating graduation day.

This Years Hopes- 2010 I hope to...
1. Be able to go visit my family in the motherland
2. Keep my part time job (School will be a lot more demanding this last semester)

2009 Last Year
Best Things that Happened:
1. Falling in love with B
2 . Going to Cuba and Montreal
3. Entering my final year of nursing and completing semester 3 with sweet marks

Worst thing that Happened in 2009:
1. Getting a neurotoxic infection in my leg from a coral reef while snorkeling

My 10 List for 2010...
1. Finish my last semester of Nursing, Graduation!!! (I’m ¾ done)
2. Pay off Visa
3. Pay off my student loan
4. Get back into shape
5. Get a new puppy
6. Get my license
7. Find a job in my profession
8. Start saving money for a down payment

9. Go to Mexico
10. Get a tattoo

Alexia turns 2!! ...Wow

Looking for a gift for a two year old proved to be more challenging than I had anticipated. I thought that getting a toy would be easy but the reality is that I didn’t know what she would like or what was suitable for a smart kid. B and I finally ended up getting her some books for reading and some for coloring and it was “a great success”. She loved them and I read them to her several times over. Although not all the family was there (my cousin missed out due to the flu) Alexia is very lucky to have family with her lots of great pressies and yummy home made cake. Happy Birthday Cutie!

1 year... Dec 29th

Dear: Love of my life

You ARE the Love of MY life.

Signed: the Love of YOUR life!

Ps. Thank you for being the most wonderful and amazing boyfriend ever! I never imagined that when I accepted to be your gf I would fall in love with you the way I have... I knew you were a great guy to hang out with cus you always had me smiling and laughing. I felt like I could really let my true colors show when I was with you, that I didnt have to try to impress you because you liked me for who I already was. As the week and months passed and spent more and more time together I quickly was falling inlove with you... I tried to control it by stopping it from happening too fast but then one day I said forget it and I just let it happen at its own pace. I know you knew I loved you and that you could see it in my eyes because there were many times before in which I looked into you eyes and saw you wanted to tell me you loved me. It wasnt untill we went to Cuba that we finally let go of our fears realted to getting hurt from saying the words " I love you". When it was finally said that was it, my heart was free to speak and it felt so good. It's been a year since I accepted to be you gf B and yes we may have run into a minor wrinkle during that time but which couple doesn't in their first year... I love you Babe A&f !

...sigh....

This has been the semester from HELL and I’m glad that it’s finally over. Never in my life did I expect school to cause so much mental and emotional stress. I have to start off by saying that if anyone was affected by my mental and emotional breakdowns “I AM SORRY”.

I know that last year in nursing gets tough, I heard about how difficult it was and I tried to prepare myself for it. I think no matter how many horror stories you hear and words of advice you get, it’s never quiet enough because if you’re not living it and if you haven’t lived it then you will never really understand how HARD it really is. There were many times in which I contemplated quitting but I’ve been pursuing this for too damn long and I have invested too much damn time and money into this to just quit like that… plus this is what I want, and I always go after what I am passionate about.

The things that I love about being a nurse are indescribable because you have to have the heart that goes along with nursing to understand the feelings that are attached to it. I can sit and talk about the nasty poop stories, sad and painful bed ulcers or openings patients have, or about the funny crazy talk some patients have, maybe even share some love stories of dedicated spouses that come to the hospital day after day and care and stay true to wedding vows once said “in sickness and in health”, or maybe I can talk about how there are some patients that are left forgotten by their loves ones in the hospital with only the nursing staff to provide love and attention.

The academic aspect is really hard and with good reason, I personally would like to know that the person who is providing care for my health (nurse) is astute and apt for the job. They try to break you and in some cases it worked, I know of a few students that by mid semester had dropped out. In many cases most students just stuck with it and tried to deal with it as best possible. In my case I know that I cried many times mostly out of frustration due to the pressure and stress I was under, I dreaded going to some classes and other classes I really enjoyed, so there was a balance. The end of semester was the worst of it and I honestly don’t know how I survived it, but I went to exams and studied my butt off… Let’s just hope that it paid off. I feel confident that I passed all my exams, however the exams are worth a huge chunk of the final grade meaning it can change the final mark significantly. Marks will be up later this week so fingers crossed… Its finally over ... sigh... only 1 more semester till graduation

End of summer...

The end of summer has finally come! After a crazy busy and stressful summer involving school and dance, I can finally relax and enjoy what is left of summer. The girls all came together for the first time in a really really long time. We celebrated 3 birthdays at once at my house in a BBQ that I called “Birthday Threesome”... We gossiped, ate, laughed and drank some sexy drinks. My gf Mel from Dubai and her boyfriend were here, my gf Dav from Texas, and then the locals girls plus a rare appearance from our friend Grace. The bf’s were all in attendance and my brother played chef over the hot bbq... all in all a delicious success with a piece of delish ice cream cake to end the night.

The CNE for many represents the last couple weeks before school begins, for me its all that plus the craziest two weeks of dance before school starts. So on Friday Aug21 the CNE opened and we went as a dance group to perform in the international pavilion and it was a great show like every year... After my performance I walked around the CNE with B then we walked across to the Molson amphitheatre to see if we could score some tickets to see Pearl Jam for their Sold Out show... So we asked a scalper if he had tickets and he only had one *tear*. So Bruno just kept walking and went in and I said to him “We can’t just walk in if we don’t have tickets, we need to go back out there and find a scalper who has tickets” his response was “ What for we have tickets” and he pulled out a pair of tickets he bought months ago. It was an amazing concert I don’t think I can ever get tired of seeing Pearl Jam and I can’t believe he kept a secret from me for so long.

Labour Day weekend I went to the CNE again but this time for fun and for yet another concert. This time it was B, his friend and my gf Yvette. As girls we were interested in playing games and winning stuffed animals and we both ended up winning a little Miss Sunshine, Keroppi and I got a Crazy frog from Bruno while Yvette went home with some other stuffed friends. The guys on the other hand were interested in winning a pocket bike or an acoustic guitar. At the amphitheatre we saw The Killers and the evening was kindda cool and breezy but other than that it was a good concert. After the concert was over we went back to the CNE for a while longer to play some more games, food and BINGO... I won! And Yvette and I play some free games and the guy didn’t even know haha, we’re so sneaky lol

September rolls around and school begins and surely enough I had to get tons of homework on my first day back but who am I to complain, I’m just really excited that I have finally entered my last year and that I am now ¾ of the way to completing my education.... I look forward to graduating.

I was expecting to do something special for Bruno’s Birthday since he has done so much for me in these last few months... The original plan was to take him out to watch “We will rock you” because I know he likes Queen however when I was looking for tickets I saw that the last show was earlier this summer at the end June. So I was stumped but I finally came up with an idea and after a lucky search I found a great deal for floor tickets to go see U2 for their 360 tour. So when I gave B his card at first he was happy but after I think it really hit him and he was excited. I think we both had a great time at the concert and it was so far the BEST concert I have seen all year.

Well another summer has come and gone and like all things that are fun and exciting... all good things must come to an end

Je T'aime....

My boyfriend asked me if I could leave a little free time in my schedule because he wanted to take me somewhere for the weekend. Unfortunately August is ALWAYS my busiest month for dance so I find it merely impossible to just walk away from it for an entire weekend. So we negotiated and came up with leave on Friday come back late Saturday, which worked really well for me.
So the whole week I was trying to figure out where he was going to take me and I came up with 3 possible ideas 1. Niagara (falls or on the lake) 2. Up north somewhere, not camping but to a resort/lodge/ B& B type place OR 3. Montreal..... It was Montreal!!!He kept it a secret and it was a good surprise, I really loved it. I honestly had my mind set on Niagara and since I have never been to Montreal but always wanted to go I was pleasantly surprised when I realized where we were going.
Montreal is everything I had imagined it to be and more... As a child I remember spending time with an aunt in Québec city. I remember it to this day even though that took place in my early childhood years. I must have been no much older that 6yrs and I remember vividly the beauty and charm of the city. It must have made such an impression on me to have these memories etched in my mind to this day.
So from those memories I had an idea of what Montreal should look like. What I saw was beautiful; it was old and new at the same time. A perfectly executed combination of old world charm meets new modern chic. The architecture is absolutely amazing; the energy of the city is so vibrant and full of life. I love to hear groups of girls or people talking to each other in French. The food well let just say I think I can live off of Crêpes and poutine for a good while.
After having a little dab of Montreal I come to realize that asides the French name that I hold I might have been French in my past life... maybe even French Canadian. I love the language, food, eating baguettes with cheese especially brie, don’t get me started on the patisseries, and Wine...let not forget the romance! Now tell me how can anyone get that wrong? Somewhere in my heart there is a fleur the lies and I love my wonderful bf for taking me on this wondrous delightful trip even though it was as short as it was.
Je T’aime mon amour et montreal aussi. xoxo

Civic Holiday

So we decided to spend the day together on the holiday monday but had no plans. We has already seen eachother on the saturday & sunday night before and I suggested that we make a day in the park out of it. We went to center island and I forgot how nice it is to go there and just walk around... we went to the pier sat and enjoyed the windy air people watched a little and then we were off to find a nice place to set our blanket down and relax. Then off we were to the "far enough farm" in the kids village and saw peacocks in the club (haha) and walk around some more... not a day full of highlights but a day well spent with someone I care about really really truly truly :) Mostly it was just fun to be together and trying to make it on to the ferry.

Oh Canada...Eh!

What a gorgeous day it was for Canada celebrations, I unexpectedly spent my day at Mississauga city hall and it was pretty fun. I have never really gone to Canada day celebrations in Mississauga except for once when I had to perform but even on that day I still didn’t stick around after. We walked around and watched the entertainment ( Chinese dragon dancers, martial arts school, variety show… etc)
Later on in the evening they had performances by Kreesha turner & Sloan and to finish off the evening right a spectacular show of fireworks right above city hall … Okay well maybe not so spectacular but its was LONGGG.
I thought that the fire works would be kind of limited and maybe 5 10 minutes but nooo not at all. The fire works display went on for what looked like 30 minutes or so, and that’s when I thought “Hey that where my dad money for taxes goes” I’m sure those fireworks didn’t come cheap.

Being a first generation Canadian born, I can say that although I am proud of my heritage I’m also really proud to be Canadian. So what makes us so different or unique from out neighbors to the south? What makes us Canadian? So I’ve composed a small list of things Canadian invented, made or inspired.
Maple Leaf, Beaver, Timbits, Maple Syrup, Poutine, Nanimo Bars, Back Bacon, Lacrosse, Hockey, Basketball, Insulin, Walkie Talkies, Zippers, Roller Skates, Toques, Cuban vacations, Metric Measurements, Robertson Screwdriver, IMAX, Cirque du Soleil, Loonie, Toonie, Canadian Tire money, Winnie the pooh and Superman are all things CANADIAN!!!

Oh, and we cant forget Joe's canadian speech....
Enjoy and Happy CANADA Day to All !

Hey.
I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader, and I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dog sled, and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada, although I'm certain they're really, really nice.

I have a Prime Minister, not a President. I speak English and French, not American, and I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'.

I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack. I believe in peacekeeping, not policing; diversity, not assimilation; and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.

A tuque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch, and it is pronounced zed: not zee – zed!!
Canada is the second largest land mass! The first nation of hockey! And the best part of North America!

My name is Joe!! And I am Canadian!
... Thank you

Barcelona ...Icecream!

So my bother remembers that he has an asignment due for class the next day, Assignment: Go to a restaurant that serves fine dinning but one thats not an established buisness chain and order 3 course meal (appetizer, main course, dessert) and a beverage, then make a review of the restaurant and food. Nice assignment eh? Well he asked me to come along with him because he would be embarassed to take pictures of the food because that "is a thing that girls do". Anyways I accepted and off we went. So our destination was the Royal york/Kingsway neighbourhood and off we went in search of a restaurant that fit the criteria. We found "Barcelona" a spanish tapas restaurant and went in to try out some tapas.
So heres MY review on it:
Restaurant - intimate setting, dimmly lit with lots of Spanish related articles such as framed bullfighting posters, a giant bulls head coming out of the wall and flamenco dancer doll at the bar. Good service and very clean!

Price-Not a expensive and deffinately not cheap place to go eat its moderately priced. The tapas are $10 and under, the main course $15 and upward, and as for desserts anywhere from $4- $10.

Food- It was delicious ! my brother ordered a Spicy traditional paella (main course) and I ordered a bunch of tapas (appetizers) such as Caramelized Onions with Goat cheese, spanish style Calimari, Warm salad which included potatoes bell peppers tomatoes and leafy greens, and a mini chicken paella. The mini paella was adorable in size but so delicious! Finally we orderd for dessert a banana churro and I had a bit of it and it was delish!....
Final verdit: I reccomend it for a special occasion type dinner and Yes I would go again.

After dinner I had a coffee date later on with my girls and it was soo good to see them ALL! As usual we had lots to talk about and catch up on but all the while enjoying each others company:)
I think it was the perfect ending to a crazy week !

The girls +boy :)

Michelles Sexy Strawberry Cheese Cake !

Jen & Yvette both got some yummy Peanut butter dessert!

Joey & I had a scoop of ice cream with a HUGE waffle and it was Yummy!

I heart Cubaaaa!!!

So after a crazy month of finals I made a well needed escape to Cuba. My boyfriend and I had been talking about going away somewhere, and he found a great deal and next thing I knew I was Cuba bound.
We went to Cayo Coco and it was just what I needed... Sun, Beach, tanning and lots of RUM!!! Yum! We went for a week to Oasis Playa Coco and it was a nice 4 star resort. Spending every day relaxing at the Beach was the best part of the trip and was worth it, being under the sun, feeling the sand in between your toes, swimming in warm salt water TOTALLY worth every penny!!!

We had so much fun even though it was just us two, I feel that after this trip with “B” it’s drawn us closer and I’m so glad that I got to spend the time that I did with him. I don’t think it would have been the same with anyone else. I would go anywhere with him because he’s a great travel partner and just as always we were laughing at something everyday and just having a good old time. I was afraid that spending so much time together I would come to learn of a habit of his that would drive me nuts or maybe by a certain day we would just get sick of being with each other. However, it was the complete opposite and I love him more now than before this trip even happened. I look forward to many more trips with my SUN GOD of a boyfriend (he’s like a tanning King!).lol

Some highlights of our trip hmmm so many things...

RUM!!! All day, any time... RUM PUNCH, Pina Coladas, Miami Vice, Mojitos, Rum and coke, slushies with Rum, fruit juice with rum and well just any drink with RUM. Mmmmmm!

The Beach - sand, waves and Sunshine!!!
Resort Dance shows – On one particular night there was this drunk guy Dancing Man it was too funny!

Snorkelling – On our last day we went snorkelling and although I had fun, unfortunately we got pushed into shallow coral reef by some crazy waves... We both touched fire coral but I got the worst of it. Cuts on my leg and now I’m taking medication for a Neurotoxic infection in my leg from the coral. I have Neuropathic damage to the nerves in my left leg and I’m also taking steroid treatment for a chemical allergic reaction to the coral reef which made my skin flare up into hives, blisters and bright red patches.

I miss relaxing at the Beach everyday : ( and taking countless naps!

Eeeek!

Okay... this is definitely the longest that I’ve been away from my Blog. I’m gonna have to summarize what’s been going on for the last while since my last post in March! Yes, March and now it’s JUNE!!
April is Birthday time!!! So my birthday came and went. I am now 28! Woo. On my Birthday I went out with my Boyfriend to Milestones and he gave me a bunch of awesome gifts (several concert tickets and a special gift. I also had a fabulous birthday dinner with my girls and my Boyfriend... I wanted to do something BIG! But then taking into consideration my school schedule I became obvious that something BIG would require lots and lots of planning time... and “TIME” is something I could not afford to waste. So it was nice and simple “Maki Maki” for all you can eat Japanese and then everyone came back to my place for Rockband and Cake.

Finals & Exams... Ugh! The dreaded words a student doesn’t wanna hear. Well I was swamped what else can I say? It was hectic and I’m so glad it’s OVER! And I’m even more excited to say that I PASSED all my classes and that I’ve officially finished First YEAR! WOOO HOOO.... Schooools out for summer! )Not really Im doing Clinical and 1 other class but that’s till the end of July :)

NO time !!!

I have been missing in action for over the past month. I'm still ALIVE ... School has taken over my life these past few weeks and even tho I've had a bit of a social life, I've been finding it hard to keep up with everything on my plate. School, dance, Boyfriend, Friends, Family, Working out and looking for a job. I cant seem to juggle all these things anymore and im dropping the ball. I wish I knew how to manage everything all at once but seems that you have to be wonder woman to know how. Maybe even she wouldn't be able to do so with the ease and agility I dream of one day mastering. I'm feeling so stressed and the root of my stress is called School. I stress because I wanna do good in all my classes and at the current time my marks arnt reflecting that wish. I stress because I need to pay my bills and Im broke 'cept I have a secret stash of cash that Im saving for a vacation and I could use that money for bill but I NEEEEED a vacation. I stress because I need a job to get the money for my bills and i have to time to work but I feel since my grade are shitty I should just focus on that and put the job search on hiatus till after finals. I stress because I feel like a leach or some sort of parasite because my folks help me out with my bills. I hate how when I was in highschool or even first time in college I use to have a crazy work load for school and still managed to work 15-20hrs a week but now that my load is less Im having such a hard time keeping up. I fear that Old age is tapping me on the shoulder, they say as we get older we absorb less... I fear this might be true. I hate how I dont feel like a good gf b/c of the things mentioned above I cant treat my bf they way I would like to or give him more of my time... my time for him feels so limited I wish I could give him more. I wanna have more time for my girlfriends too I swear I feel like its been months that ive been so out of touch with them and its only really been a month since Ive last seen them.

I just want to end my semester and have a somewhat normal life AGAIN!

ps- I may be missing till mid -end April, school has taken time away from my life.

Emo kids

"Pain doesn't hurt ... when its all you've ever felt " - Unknown

So I went to Tim's for coffee some with my girlfriends on sunday night, and there was this emo guy sitting in the corner of the shop at a table all alone with his fringed bangs sweeeping over his face covering it. We're pretty sure he was pretend calling someone on his cell phone....but anyways we overheard him on the phone.. and all we could catch was " Sometimes people don't understand that I need to be sad" ... I mean (lol) he makes a good point sometimes we do need to feel sad but it was such a cliche thing to hear him say and so sterotypical... well we found it amusing none the less... Usually if Im having a hormonal day I just tell people that Im feeling Emo, So what exactley is Emo? and how is it defined?

EMOS
Yes, Emo is short for emotional. Emo is one of the hardest things to explain because the are viewed as suicidal, cry babies, sensitive or weak...

"Suicide is painless it's only life that hurts" - Unknown

Although some people make them selves appear emo it's just the hair and looks emo is more of a state of mind and as the name states its emotional and harder to fake.
"Emo: Like a Goth, only a lot less darker and much more Harry Potter" - Unknown

Emo music is something that is rather ambiguously defined. It can be something that has heavy punk chords and influence such as what we've heard from the Sex Pistols, but it can also be something with soft melodic characteristics like what we've heard from the Cure. This is why emo is such a hard concept to define. It is an expression of emotion in some way. The Cure have been going strong now for over 20 years, writing songs that could make any 16 year old boy break into tears, even the football players. Their catchy guitar riffs and honest, emotional vocals have been mimicked by almost every emo artist to date. Another band from across the pond that has definitely influenced the emo music scene is Depeche Mode. They might be a primarily electronic band, but their moody lyrics and loner style has crept into every facet of the emo scene. Loosely defined, Emo music is music that is highly emotional and very straight forward in the expression of that emotion.

Emo is not only a classification or a type of music it's also taken over the way one expresses themself by dressing. It includes the tighter fiting pants to the dyed-black or dark hair with it covering your face. The longer hair in front with the spikes in the back is also a more Emo- or emotional look to dressing. Most times females and some males using heavy dark eyeliner or other makeup.

So one of my girlfriends asked me "Is it true that in Mexico they kill emo kids?" To that I had no reply so I went to my reliable Mexi sources at dance class and asked what the dealio was with this whole emo death rumour. It was explained to me that emos in Mexico (more in refernece to males) are considered to be homosexual because of the way they dress and act( makeup and being sensitive). I think its important to note that Mexico is a country where the religion is practically 98% Roman Catholic and because Mexicans are sooo hardcore catholic being homosexual is deeply frowed upon therefore leading to emo kids ( males specifically) to be targeted. Even to this day many homosexuals in Mexico are still in the closet because it is soo taboo... Another fator why emo kids are disliked among Mexican society is because of thier "suicidal image" and of course that is also frowned upon in the catholic religion. Dissatisfied with those being the only reasons that Emo Kids were being persecuted and killed I decided to investigate further and found several articles that explained what really triggered or initialized this movement.

"The violent attacks are partly being blamed on an on-air rant by ‘Televisa’ TV personality Kristoff who recently called emo ‘fucking bullshit’. Kristoff subsequently called for an end to the violence but it is thought he make take the fall if the government blames Televisa for the trouble...
On March 7 around 800 young people in the city of Querataro amassed against emos in the city resulting in many violent attacks, and a week later a similar incident occurred in Mexico City. Emos in both cities responded to the attacks by marching peacefully through the center of the cities...
Meanwhile, Chile is also seeing a wave of violence against emo, with TV station Chilevision showing an attack on a group of PokEMOns by skinheads. Emo’s in Chile are known as PokEMOns."

It makes me wonder are we all a bit Emo? Maybe in order to function day to day we repress the little emo kid living inside of us...

Crazy Ex-girlfriend

Why is that some women just can't accept it when a guy ends a relationship with her? I've recently experienced the Crazy ex girlfriend, which in this case happens to be my brothers ex's.

Ex girl friend #1
Came to my house to fight with my brother b/c she couldnt accept that he was dating someone new. Basically if she cant have him then no one can have him. She almost broke the window. Stole a zip up jacket that was given to him by the new gf and threw it in the mud. Calls the new gf claiming that she is pregnate and claiming that she is having sex with him ( which are lies made up just to get a reaction). Shows up to the new gf's house with her friends to show her all the msgs my brother wrote her when they were together ( dont know what that proves). Says shes gonna get married b/c he said that he wants to be with her and raise thier baby together. Honestly shes a stupid little girl, who is delusional because he wants nothing to do with her, not only that shes not even pregnate STOP pretending!!! GROW UP!!!

Ex girlfriend#2
plays the same game as #1 claiming shes pregnate, refuses to go to the doctor to go do a test when my family offered to take her. However shes waving around a positive pee stick saying that my brother knocked her up. Comes to my house yelling that shes gonna kill him and shes gonna kill her baby too. She demands that he pays for her abortion, however AGAIN when told that my family is willing to take her to get it done because she wants it and we will pay for it she changes the topic to something else... an starts yelling things like hes a dog, Im gonna kill him, ... etc. She not only comes and insults my brother but my family and then she get physically agrressive and its not the first time that shes gotten violent with my brother. So today was the final straw I called the cops on her because I had enough of her making a sceen. She was gonna run when she saw the cops but they stopped her, talk to her, and off in the cruiser she left.
For someone who is 28y/o she acts like shes 19y/o and is imature and I dont think she is pregnate and if she is well I doubt its my brothers b/c from what I know shes not anywhere near being a prude.

I honestly thought that "the crazy ex girlfriend" was a myth or an over exageration by men. I thought that these types of girls existed only in books, tv, or in movies. I never thought that I would ever see first hand the insane, immature, psychotic behaviour of 'the ex-gf '.

I really am glad that my girlfriends are smart well rounded women that would never lower themselves to that level. I know some pretty amazing ladies that I adore and Im glad I dont know or associate with people like those crazy chicks.

New Year... 2009

Well Last night was fun, I really had a good time with B and his friends. As expected it was a small gathering of friends and I enjoyed meeting them all. Lots of beer, guys playing guitar hero, and watching sports after the count down... I got a little buzzed from the champagne but it was a small one. My favorite thing about New Years and being with B was the kiss and spending time with him even tho it meant being tired as hell coming home at 8 in the morning, it was well worth it.

So I dont usually make a habit of creating New years resolutions, because I find that people ( like me) usually only stick to them for the first quarter of the year before they settle back into thier old ways. In the past few years I use to make a list of 10 things I wanted to do for that year, no matter how unlikely or absurd it was and if by the end of the year I accomplished 1 of those things then I could say that I had suceeded.

However this year I want to do more than just a '10 list' and Ive decided to combine it with other things... and hopefully it will help me in achieving certain goals I have in mind, and here goes...
New Years Resolutions 2009

1. Be MORE physically active ( I want to be able to run again, so I need to work on my physiotherpy for my back, plus I want my old body back)
2. Experience NEW things ( I'm usually open to anything but this year I wanna push my limits into doing things I would normally not do ... taste, feel, do..etc)

3. SHOW more Emotion ( I usually dont have trouble verbally expressing how I feel, but I think that I dont hug my family or friends enough and I really wish I did)

4. Take time to BREATH ( I am a control hog and I a lot of the times I take on more than I should. Usually its because I cant say No or because I think I can handle it... I need to distress, breath, take in the moment, and just enjoy the small things.)

5. CREATE better habits & environments ( not just at home but also at school, in dance, and with people I love... I need to organize my time, priorities, and also need to improve the environments I work in like my room, study areas, dance space... etc. )

This Years Hopes- 2009

I hope to...
1. Be able to travel, take a vacation ( I really need one, its been long over due)
2. Find a steady part time job ( I need something to help while im in school)2008 Last Year
Best Thing that Happend: (It’s a tie! )
1. Finally getting a full time acceptance at school (nursing)
2 .Finding out that Bird is the word, all the while enjoying Bnut butter and Jam

Worst thing that Happend:
Finding out I didn’t pass all my classes after exam and thinking that I was withdrawn from the program when I wasn’t... My world almost ended that day.

My 10 List for 2009...
1. Get through and pass 1st year nursing
2. Make money
3. Pay off Visa
4. Start an RRSP
5. Go Sky diving
6. Visit a new city (major city)
7. Get back into shape
8. Donate my Hair
9. Fall madly in love (someone or something)
10. Get a tattoo
